Not to be missed
Everything. Costa Rica is SO diverse. The coasts are perfect beach spots and central Costa Rica gives you volcanoes, rainforests, and cool weather. If I had to choose, Arenal Volcano Park, Manuel Antonio Park, Monteverde, and Guanacaste are must stops on your Costa Rican itinerary.
Activities
There are so many options, but this is definitely an easy destination for adventures and exploring. Relaxing on a beach is, of course, always a great option - but for when you need that adrenaline rush, head to Arenal for some waterfall rappelling, continue conquering heights in Monteverde with a surreal zip lining experience (it's very odd to see your zipline companions disappear into the clouds!), and finish up by heading back to the beach for some surfing.
Culinary
Check out a local "soda" for some delicious and authentic food. It's also likely going to be where you get your best margarita (plan to drink this ice cold and with a view of that beach sunset!). There isn't a lack of excellent dining options, but if you're staying at either Nayara Springs or El Silencio, you're completely set. The culinary offerings here are truly excellent and give you a taste of "Tico" food in a luxurious setting.
Spa/Wellness
After a day of adventuring, a spa treatment is just the thing. Both Nayara Springs and El Silencio have incredible spa offerings in the jungle atmosphere you came to Costa Rica for.
